Dark Web Monitoring — Release Notes

Release Date: 2025-10-14

Version: 1.0

Summary

This release introduces PhishFort’s new Dark Web Monitoring module which provides corporate domain visibility into leaked credentials, corporate email exposures, and early indicators of compromise across underground channels.

What’s New

  • Dashboard Overview & Metrics

    • You’ll now see (via dashboard) the total number of leaked records, a breakdown of compromised corporate emails and passwords, and aggregated data from leak databases, dark web forums, paste sites, and underground channels.
  • Historical Leak Timeline

    • A visual timeline shows when each leak was first observed, helping you map the sequence of exposure.
  • Data Leak Record Table

    • Each leak event is represented in a detailed table, including:
      • Type of leaked data, such as emails or passwords (hashed or plaintext)
      • First observed leak date
      • Source/origin
      • Risk score — a severity metric factoring in sensitivity of the data type that was leaked

Actionable Remediation Guidance

From the dashboard, you can export a CSV of affected accounts for remediation workflows (e.g. identity rotation). The recommended remediation sequence includes:

  1. Force password resets / credential rotation for exposed accounts
  2. Enforce MFA for all accounts (if not yet enabled)
  3. Quarantine or temporarily block affected accounts
  4. Apply conditional access or step-up verification for high-risk users

Getting Started

Log into your PhishFort portal: Dark Web Monitoring should appear as a new module in your navigation panel but will be obscured until purchase.

Reach out to your sales or customer success representative to get started. Email sales@phishfort.com to get started on your curated dashboard.
